Research Collaborations

To maximize the impact of funding certain types of research or studies, we often collaborate with other organizations. Projects include:

  • The Bridge Project
An unprecedented collaboration of researchers and clinicians from the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT and Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center
  • SPORE Collaborative
Public-private partnership to fund two (2) promising clinical trials through the brain tumor SPORE (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI)

  • Brain Tumor Funders' Collaborative
Eight (8) private funders provided multiyear grants to three clinical investigations

  • Prevalence Study through Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States (CBTRUS)
This study updated data on the number of persons who are currently living with a brain tumor diagnosis (i.e. prevalence). Adult and pediatric primary brain tumor prevalence was estimated for the US population in 2010.

  • AACR/NBTS Fellowship
A one (1) year fellowship funded by the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to support early-career brain tumor researchers

  • AANS/CNS Section on Brain Tumors Award
American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) along with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Section on Tumors, awards a grant to the best translational research proposal on brain tumors.
