My story about my post brain tumor

by Aranne

This is my story about how I found out that I had a brain tumor. I have three children and when my baby girl was born; about three weeks later I realized that I had hearing loss and when I would go to gatherings I would get teased so often about how I could not hear. When Emma was around 4 she had so many ear infections that our pediatrician  sent her to the ENT doctor and while we were in the room ; when the doctor came in I mentioned to him that I was not hearing very good at all. Emmas doctor told me that he wanted me to get my hearing checked now today. I took Emma's doctor's advice and got my hearing checked and the doctor came back in less than 10 minutes and gave me the news that I had 95% hearing loss and my jaw dropped open. Well the doctor told me that I needed to get a stat MRI and when I got the news two days later that I had a brain tumor the size of a large Plum and I went into SHOCK MODE... The following day I had to call to get an appointment with the surgeon and sure enough I got an appointment for two weeks later and I was told that my brain tumor had grown for 6+ yrs ; this means that I had this all through each of my pregnancies. When I heard this I was I'm shock again...Well two months later I had my operation date I don't remember when the day I actually had my operation; but I do however know that I had been in surgery for over 12 hours. I got out of surgery and was taken straight to the ICU for several days. This was crazy.. Well my operation took place in 2004 and now it is 2012 and I am doing really well I did not have any paralysis at all on my left side of my face. I thanked the lord for blessing me through all of this . I hope that this helps anyone that either is about to go in for surgery or is post- surgery . Anyway god bless you and keep you all healthy.. Sincerely, Aranne E. Mackey
