My name is Laura, and on June 12, 2004 our lives changed forever. Our family was woken at 2 AM by our puppy due to the fact that my son, Michael, was getting sick. When we arrived at his room he was incoherent and unable to stand. We called 911, and he was rushed to our local hospital. After many tests, we were told that Michael had a ruptured brain tumor. He had emergency surgery and was in a coma after the surgery. After many months of hospitalization and rehab, Michael returned home in a wheelchair. Michael graduated high school on June 12, 2009, exactly five years later. He now walks with a walker and is in his second year of college. He remains cancer free. Michael continues to inspire others and we are very proud of him.
