Marketing Communications Assistant

National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) is a leading non-profit fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. We aggressively drive strategic research, advocate for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community, and provide helpful online patient information and resources.

We are currently seeking a Marketing Communications Assistant who will provide administrative assistance and support to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. This position will work closely with the marketing communications team on assigned departmental initiatives and tasks as assigned and will work out of the Watertown, MA office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO).
  • Maintains and manages CMCO’s appointment schedule as requested by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
  • Manages and maintains accurate, complete files and documents both online and hard copy.
  • Opens and responds to email.
  • Provides proofreading, writing, and editing assistance of print and electronic communications with the highest level of accuracy.
  • Assists with logistics for NBTS Summit, symposiums, and attends events as required.
  • Supports social media needs as assigned.
  • Assists with daily operation of the marketing communications department group, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Provides assistance to Communications team on projects as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications with two or more years of relevant experience.
  • Motivated, positive, high energy level with a curiosity to learn and grow.
  • Solid work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Desire to be an active member of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize work load.
  • Solid writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Task oriented with an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deliverables.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel to and attend events.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ease with learning new software and applications.
