About the program:
Launched in 2004, this intensive training program is designed especially for caregivers of brain tumor patients. The training focuses on the challenges caregivers face when caring for someone with a brain tumor.
This program is free and open to families, friends, and loved ones of brain tumor patients and survivors. Participants hear presentations by doctors, nurses, neuropsychologists, social workers, physical therapists, lawyers, and more. In addition to learning about brain tumor treatments, managing symptoms, coping with personality changes, legal issues for caregivers, and more, participants have the opportunity to network with other caregivers.

Here's what past participants have said about the caregiver trainings:
"When I first received the flyer for the class, I thought that I didn't need to attend because I was already living the experience of caring for my wife. The class as it turns out, was a heaven-sent blessing. Not only did I learn useful and timely material, I met other caregivers in similar situations with whom I could 'compare notes' and network with."
"At this time my husband is making steady progress after his surgery. I was grateful for the class, however, in the event of a decline I will be prepared for more effective care."
"Too often a caregiver's own personal and emotional needs are ignored or hidden by the caregivers themselves. Most valuable to me were the speakers who shared their personal experiences of caring for a loved one with a terminal illness."
